Joint Security Taskforce (JST) codenamed ‘Operation Savanna Shield ', in collaboration with the security agents from the Benin Republic and Nigeria’s local vigilantes, killed over 200 terrorists in a border town between Nigeria and the Republic. The head of the vigilante of the community died in the encounter. Arms and ammunition were also recovered by the troops, including over 100 motorcycles belonging to the terrorists. It was not stated if the victims were Boko Haram, ISWAP, or rural bandits. |
