Description |
The rescue operation of the kidnapped pupils and teachers of Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota; Community Grammar School, Esiele; and L.A. Primary School was fatal, claiming the lives of 3 soldiers, Lieutenant F.A. Isaac, Private Silas Musa, and Sergeant Abena John Jerome; and two teachers, Michael Oyedokun, who was beheaded in captivity, and John Olaleye, who was reportedly shot dead during the attack on one of the schools. Several abductors reportedly linked to Boko Haram were also killed. It is assumed that at least 10 abductors died in the encounter, while 8 kidnappers were also arrested in the incident.
